The challenge
KFit Performance is a private personal training gym in Taylors, South Carolina. Ridgeline has worked with KFit since 2023, first on a rebrand and website, then on a full site rebuild in the summer of 2025 after the gym opened that January.
By October 2025 the business looked the part: a new site, strong reviews, a busy gym. The weak spot was where new clients came from. Most inquiries traced back to things the owner had to keep doing herself or couldn’t control, like Instagram posts, referrals, and people driving past the building. Only about one in three website leads came from search.
Meanwhile, people around Greenville searched for a personal trainer every day. KFit showed up for its own name and little else. For “personal trainer Greenville SC,” the site sat on page two.
KFit hired us in October 2025 to make search a channel that brings in new clients whether or not anyone posted that week.
What we did
The engagement ran on a steady monthly rhythm: new pages, upkeep on KFit’s listings, and a report on what the numbers said. Three decisions mattered more than the rest.
1. A page for each search people were already making. About two pages a month, roughly 20 over the year. Each one is built around a single search, like a female personal trainer in Greenville, strength training for seniors, personal training for teens, or a private gym. Each answers that searcher’s questions and ends with the same offer: a free intro session.
2. We let the data settle a keyword question. The homepage targeted “personal training Greenville SC.” Early on we built a separate page for “personal trainer Greenville SC,” the most valuable search in KFit’s market. The rankings showed Google reads those two phrases as the same search with the same intent. With two pages answering one question, neither ranked as well as it could, and the homepage slipped from around position 15 to 34.
In May 2026 we combined them. The homepage took the best content from the other page, plus pricing, a three-step “how it works” section, a map, the areas KFit serves, and answers to common questions. By late summer the homepage held position 7 for those searches and appeared more than five times as often.
3. We tracked what turned into a lead and fixed what got in the way. Tracking for calls, emails, booking clicks, and form submissions, plus a rewritten “How did you hear about us?” question so every lead names its source. Click data showed visitors tapping the footer address and getting nothing, so we linked it to Google Maps. In September we replaced a reviews plugin that slowed down every page with a custom-built reviews section, and the mobile speed score went from 38 to 71.
Alongside all of this we kept KFit’s Google Business Profile, Apple Business, and directory listings current. When KFit was named Best Personal Training Studio in South Carolina for 2026, the award was on the site and the listings the same month.
Results
From January through September 2026, 47 people filled out KFit’s contact form and said they found the gym through search, up from 22 in the same months of 2025.
| Website form leads, Jan 1 – Sep 28 | 2025 | 2026 | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| From organic search | 22 | 47 | +114% |
| All sources | 62 | 74 | +19% |
| Search share of all leads | 35% | 64% |
Social, referral, and walk-by leads came down from their grand-opening highs in early 2025. Search covered that drop and added more on top.
The growth didn’t arrive evenly. Through April, 2026 was running 17 leads behind 2025. From May through September, after the homepage consolidation, KFit took in 60 leads against 31 in the same months a year earlier. August alone brought 17, against 4.
KFit kept growing as a business the whole time, with several record revenue months across 2025 and 2026. September 2026 was the highest-revenue month in its history.
“Since we started working together, KFit’s revenue has increased tremendously and we’re consistently getting new client inquiries every week. We’ve grown so much that I’m about to have to start a waitlist because people just keep coming! The growth over the past year has been incredible.”
Behind those leads
- Google showed KFit about 67,000 times in the first year of the engagement (Oct 2025–Sep 2026), roughly three times the year before. Clicks rose about 80%.
- Clicks from searches that didn’t include KFit’s or its owner’s name rose 75% (June–September, 2026 vs 2025).
- The number of those searches where KFit appears on page one nearly tripled, from 130 to 373.
- Five leads in 2026 said an AI assistant such as ChatGPT recommended KFit. A year earlier there were none.
