  • 9 → 33leads per quarter, first quarter of the engagement vs the latest
  • 8xcalls from BM's Google Business Profile, same two quarters
  • 2.9xclicks from Google search, same two quarters
  • 24five-star Google reviews, double the count when the engagement began

The challenge

BM’s owner had about a decade of experience in industrial contracting before starting the company. For years he took on contracting work on the side of a full-time job, and the side work was paying more. In the summer of 2025 he decided to build it into his own business. BM Industrial Solutions repairs and installs air compressors, services hydraulic systems, and handles mechanical contracting and process piping for plants across South Carolina, Georgia, and North Carolina.

When he came to us that summer, BM had no website, no brand, and no Google Business Profile. We started small, with a one-page website and a new profile so the business existed online. Within weeks the profile held a dozen five-star reviews from plant owners and contractors who had called him for years.

The weak spot was everyone else. A one-page site gave Google little reason to show BM for the services it sells. In Charleston, a competitor with fewer reviews and an unclaimed listing ranked above BM for compressor repair because it had a page built for that search. BM’s profile went all of September and October 2025 without a single call.

In October 2025 the owner committed to BM full time and hired us for a 12-month SEO engagement. The goal was to turn his reputation into leads from plants that had never heard of BM.

What we did

Ridgeline built every piece of BM’s presence online. We designed and developed the website in Webflow, wrote all of its copy, handled the SEO, technical SEO, and image optimization, and set up hosting. We also built the Google Business Profile and BM’s listings on Apple Maps, Bing, Yelp, and other directories.

From there the engagement ran on a monthly rhythm: about two new SEO pages a month, upkeep on the profile and listings, and a report on what the numbers said. Three decisions mattered more than the rest.

1. A page for every service and every market BM serves. A plant manager with a down compressor searches for the service and the city, so the site needed a page for each. We built four service hubs for air compressors, hydraulics, mechanical contracting, and process piping. Under them sit pages for compressor installation, repair, and maintenance and for hydraulic repair and maintenance, plus eleven service area pages from Charleston and Columbia to Savannah, Augusta, and Charlotte. Every page links to the services and cities around it, so Google can see how the whole site fits together. The service area pages also tell Google and AI assistants exactly where BM works.

2. A Google Business Profile built around what BM sells. We switched the profile’s primary category to air compressor repair service, the category the competitor outranking BM in Charleston used. We rebuilt the service list to about 44 services across three categories, so it could match the specific searches plants make. We kept BM’s listings on Bing, Yelp, and other directories consistent with it, and made it easy for satisfied customers to leave a review. The review count doubled from 12 to 24, all five stars.

3. We tracked every lead and kept improving what converts. We set up tracking on every call button and added structured data to all 24 pages, so search engines and AI assistants can read who BM is, where it works, and what it does. On June 17, 2026 we launched a contact form that asks which service the buyer needs and how they found BM, so every inquiry names its source. Along the way we refined the design across the site, made technical SEO fixes, and rewrote the homepage copy in July to strengthen its rankings.

Results

In the first three months of the engagement, October through December 2025, BM took in 9 leads from Google and its website. From July through September 2026, it took in 33.

Leads per quarter Oct–Dec 2025 Jul–Sep 2026
Calls from the Google Business Profile 2 16
Calls from the website 7 7
Qualified contact form inquiries 0 (form launched June 2026) 8
Email clicks from the website 0 2
Total 9 33

Calls from Google drove most of the growth. Before 2026 the profile went months without a call. Every month since January has brought between 2 and 7, for 44 calls from January through September.

The new contact form added a second steady channel. Since it launched in June, the inquiries have included an emergency repair on a 200-horsepower compressor at a Sumter trailer plant, a full plant air system for a new copper refinery in Charleston, a compressor replacement at a packaging plant in Duncan, and a process water skid for a manufacturer in Goose Creek. Public pricing puts a 100-horsepower compressor replacement at $45,000 to $100,000 installed, so a single job like these can be worth more than a year of SEO.

Behind those leads

  • Clicks from Google search rose from 45 in the first quarter of the engagement to 130 in the latest, and Google showed BM more than five times as often.
  • In the area around BM’s shop in Holly Hill, BM holds the top Google Maps spot for “air compressor repair” at every point we track, every week since tracking began in August.
  • BM’s Google reviews doubled from 12 to 24, and every one is five stars.
  • One packaging plant said on the contact form that an AI assistant like ChatGPT pointed it to BM, and asked for a proposal to replace its main compressor.
